fields - 6 weeks

Today we hit the 6-week mark in the life of fields.  It is difficult to describe all of the ways that he has grown and changed since coming into this world last month.  Despite the sleeplessness, inability to accomplish all that we used to, irratibility, etc., he continues to be the apple of our eyes.  Even last night, we tried to comprehend the reality that he is actually here, but to no avail.  We are still in awe of Jesus' goodness.
So, at this point in his life, fields...
 - is starting to smile at us when we smile at him (especially in the morning)
 - loves his swing
 - enjoys his morning walk with Deborah, Rachel, and Meg (Rachel and Meg are friends/neighbors)
 - allows his dad to fold him over for some 'gas relief' - video evidence to follow soon!
 - can pick up his head and turn it from side to side while lying on his stomach
 - has begun allowing mom to have a break by taking a bottle of breastmilk occasionally
 - is simply incredible!

Yay for the Kirkland blog!!! I love the sweet picture of Fields. Isn't it great to get those smiles?? And Deb...the bottle thing has been a nice addition for us too. Now Daddy gets to do a feeding every once in a while!

Glad to see you guys enjoying the miracle God gave you. Keep us updated!

So glad the blog is up and running! Nice that Deborah can have a break from feedings...I guess giving Fields a bottle once and awhile is the closest daddy's can come to lactating themselves. Glad he is smiling for you...that makes all the hard work feel worthwhile. Love y'all!

glad you guys have a blog and LOVE seeing the pics of Fields!! I have a practical newborn myself now, a complete surprise! (check out the blog for pics and her story). She came to us about 3 weeks ago, 11 weeks old and barely 6 lbs. Now she is 14 weeks, 9.5 lbs, and growing fast. I am exhausted much of the time, I don't think any words can describe the continual sleep deprivation and what it does to us! Ha. Worth it though!! I am so thrilled about Fields and can't wait to meet him face to face!! You are blessed! (Santhiya and I will be tuning in to your message on Wed night!!)
